Making the most of your smartphone on holiday

When the mobile phone phenomenon was in its infancy, we were loathe to take our phones abroad due to the enormous bills we would get on our return with ridiculous roaming charges. Thankfully now that we have smartphones and Wi-Fi we can take our phones with us and benefit from all their features without the fear of a bill dropping through our letterbox and landing with an almighty thump.

France is a vast, varied country with snow capped mountains and glorious beaches, it is also the second largest country in Europe and it takes some doing to see all of it. It’s not impossible however, thanks to a French railcard and couch surfing. This new phenomenon in travel allows you to post your profile on the website and be matched with families in the parts of France you wish to visit who will let you stay in their home free of charge.
